Dear Colleagues,

I am sorry to deliver the news that Xuemei Chen will be departing UCR in July to take an Endowed Professorship at Peking University, with a likely appointment as Dean of the School of Life Sciences soon to follow.  This is a great opportunity for her.  Xuemei has been a valued colleague, amazing mentor to students and postdocs, and fantastic campus citizen.  She has done a lot for BPSC, IIGB, and UCR, and we will miss her very much.

Please join me in congratulating Xuemei as she moves on to the next chapter in her career.
