[Botanypostdoc] Instructor needed for online Bioinformatics class at SFSU

Good morning,

I'm the associate chair of Biology at San Francisco State University. I'm writing to ask if you know of any postdocs or advanced PhD students in your department who would be interested in teaching an online bioinformatics class as a lecturer at SFSU this Fall. If you know of anyone, I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass this email along to them or send me their name so I can get in contact with them directly. A brief description of the course is pasted below.  I do want to add that while the course emphasizes the annotation of genomic DNA, there is flexibility in how the course is taught and students pursue individual projects as part of the class.


BIOL 638 Bioinformatics and Genome Annotation (Units: 4)

Prerequisites for BIOL 738<http://bulletin.sfsu.edu/search/?P=BIOL%20738>: Graduate standing; BIOL 357<http://bulletin.sfsu.edu/search/?P=BIOL%20357>; or consent of the instructor.
Prerequisites for BIOL 638<http://bulletin.sfsu.edu/search/?P=BIOL%20638>: Upper-division standing; BIOL 230<http://bulletin.sfsu.edu/search/?P=BIOL%20230>; GPA of 3.0 or higher; or consent of the instructor.

Analyze and annotate genomic DNA. Results from this course will be incorporated into peer-reviewed publications with students listed as an author. (Plus-minus letter grade only)
