Hello Friends and Colleagues,

As some of you know I am the vice president of Association for Women in Science UCR (AWIS UCR)<https://awisucr.wixsite.com/awisucr>, and we recently teamed up with UCR’s Science to Policy<https://sciencetopolicy.ucr.edu/>, the UCR Library<https://library.ucr.edu/>, and UCR Graduate Division<https://graduate.ucr.edu/> to host a screening and discussion of AAAS production of “Picture a Scientist.<https://eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2020-05/ss-pas052220.php>" We are holding this event because we want to examine how we as an academic community can better promote women in science. For this, we have invited moderators (from both in and out of UCR) to help guide small break out room discussion about the film and women in science. We have also invited the deans of CNAS, School of Medicine, CHASS, BCOE, and Chair of academic senate to engage in a panel discussion.
