Dear BPSC Students,
  Happy New Year! The quarter is beginning so I want to introduce you to the seminar for Winter 2021. Please view the schedule at this link:

If you are presenting and have not added your title, please do so.

For those of you not presenting but in need of credit, please be sure to enroll. Attached is the syllabus indicating how grades are assigned. Basically you must not miss more than 1 seminar and you must provide feedback to student speakers to receive credit. For those of you presenting, please note you will receive a letter grade based on your presentation. For more information on the scope of that and how many quarters you need to enroll in, please consult your handbook (p39).

FOR PRESENTERS: It is required that you meet or at least present your slides to the instructor (this quarter, me) at least 1 week prior to your talk to make sure you are on the right track. For those of you going this week, please send me your slides today. I assume you are giving practice talks in your respective labs. As per the handbook, you will be graded on how well you convey: (1) importance of the research, (2) context of the proposed research relative to the field, (3) specific hypotheses and research questions, and (4) anticipated outcomes, findings and impacts. The goal is to reach the diverse BPSC audience.

FOR STUDENT EVALUATIONS: a link will be provided each week to a google form.
