Dear Colleagues,

I'd be grateful if you could help to circulate this job announcement to your trainees. The department of Biological Sciences at Cal Poly Pomona is recruiting a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor to teach and do research in our department, and also to design a course for our new ethnic studies curriculum at the University.

The ideal candidate will have a desire to teach a diverse student body, establish an independent research program, and design a course in ethnic studies. The area of research specialization is very open to anything related to Environmental or Health Justice (including neglected diseases), so I think this would be an excellent fit for Microbiologists and Parasitologists of all sorts!

Cal Poly Pomona is one of the 23 campuses in the California State University system, and as an inclusive polytechnic University, has a learn-by-doing model. As teacher-scholars, we divide our time about 50/50 between teaching and research, and have a flexible and transparent tenure process. We are a Minority-serving institution, and are located on a beautiful land-grant campus in Southern California, commuting distance from LA, Riverside, Orange, and San Bernadino counties.

A link to the job posting is below, and I'd be happy to personally field any questions from your trainees about the position.

Francie Mercer
