Hello BMSC PhD Students,

Just a gentle reminder that the deadline to submit applications for the 21-22 TA, Clinical-GSR and Technical-GSR is TODAY.

We are encouraging all eligible students to submit an application for positions you want to be considered for in the upcoming academic year. We have 9 TA positions (3 each quarter), 2 C-GSRs, and 2 T-GSRs available. Upper-classmen who have already completed block classes are also eligible to apply for the TA positions.

Faculty mentors, please encourage your Biomed students to apply for the clinical and technical GSRs to further develop their professional skills in and outside the lab.

Dear BMSC PhD Students,

The Division of Biomedical Sciences is proud to announce that we are now accepting applications for the BMSC TAships, the clinical-GSR, and the new technical-GSR positions. If you want to be considered for both specialized GSRs, you can apply using the same application. The forms now require faculty mentor support, so you will need to get their signature on the form before submission. Deadline for submissions is May 7, 2021.

The fillable-PDF applications are attached for your reference. Within the next week, the applications will also be available on the Biomed Forms webpage: https://biomed.ucr.edu/forms-graduate-students. I will notify you once the applications are available online.

Application guidelines and eligibility criteria will be outlined in each attachment. Below is the general eligibility criteria required for all student employment:

  1.  Must be a Ph.D. student in the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program
  2.  Must have completed first year graduate program core course requirements by July 1st
  3.  Must be in good academic standing; making progress towards normative time
  4.  Must remain registered graduate student enrolled in 12 units during the academic year.
  5.  Must be actively engaged in scholarly research and demonstrated aptitude to quickly grasp scientific concepts and adopt research technologies

Note, the clinical-GSR positions will require an interview with select committee members and the Clinical Research Program Administrator, Herlinda Bergman.
