On behalf of the SCEP organizing committee we are happy to announce that the 13th annual Southern California Eukaryotic Pathogen symposium<https://scep.ucr.edu/> will take place on November 8th 2023!

Join us for a full day of trainee talks and posters at the Genomics Auditorium here at UC Riverside. Parking will be available in lot #6.

We are delighted to announce that our keynote speaker this year is Dr. Boris Striepen<http://www.striepenlab.org/>, Mark Whittier and Lila Griswold Allam Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Striepen studies the cell and molecular biology of apicomplexan parasites. Presentation title: "The Biology of Parasite Sex".

We will also welcome Associate Professor, Dr. Veronica Jimenez<https://vjimenezor.wixsite.com/jimenezlab>, Biological Sciences, California State University, Fullerton who will give the morning invited talk. The Jimenez laboratory focuses on studying the role that ion channels play in sensing and adaptation to environmental conditions in protozoan parasites, with particular emphasis in trypanosomatids. Presentation title: "Touchy-feely parasites: mechanosensation in Trypanosomes".
