Greetings BMSC Grad Program faculty,
I hope this message finds you well. The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program is excited to announce the incoming PhD cohort for 2025. As part of their first-year training, all incoming PhD students are required to complete three lab rotations.
1. Do you have an opening for a Biomed Sci PhD student as their mentor? Their first year is full funded by the program. PIs would begin support starting Summer 2026.
Which quarter are you willing to have a student rotate?
Yes_________ ; No___________; Quarter_____________
1. If you do not have space for a graduate student, do you have availability in your lab for technical rotations? If so which quarter?
Yes_________ ; No___________; Quarter_____________
The 2025 PhD Cohort:
* Jocelyn Alfaro, MS, CSU Los Angeles
* Denzel Cardenas, MS, UC Riverside
* Neil Fernandes, MS, UC San Diego
* Ellie Pettijohn, BS, Vanguard Univ. of Southern California
* Dan Tran, BS, UC Berkeley
Starting July 1, these five students will be on-campus for the new student orientation and the beginning of their summer lab rotation. You may begin receiving email inquiries about lab rotation openings for the summer and the academic year in the coming weeks. We are encouraging students to reach out directly to faculty. We are also working with the students to have them complete lab safety training by the start of the summer. Students will begin their first-year curriculum on August 4.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards
Seema
