Hi everyone,
The scheduled 15-hour electrical shutdown is happening this Saturday from 4 am to 8 am for Bachelor and Keen Halls.  The attached list was generated based on your request for generator power for equipment. The generator was sized based on the requests, so the list can’t be changed.

I suggest that you place a tag on each piece of equipment so that it is easy for the contractor to identify.  Perhaps a half-sheet of paper indicating “Needs generator power”.  This will ensure the the right items are provided generator power.

I will come in to check on things Saturday morning and again Sat evening when power is restored.  But I suggest that someone from your group also plan to check on your freezers to make sure they power back up after power is restored.

Note that a number of other buildings will have a shorter duration outage from 4 - 6 am.  The list is below.

WHAT TO EXPECT

There will be no power during these times. Electrical equipment, lights, and elevators will be impacted.

PURPOSE A power shutdown is required to replace electrical equipment and bring in new generator power for the Batchelor Hall construction project.

Occupants with sensitive research equipment should take the following precautions:

•         If you have sensitive research equipment or systems you know can be impacted by power interruption and you have not connected them to uninterrupted power devices (UPS) and surge protectors, please plan to disconnect and turn off equipment for the duration to avoid any damage.
