Hi Everyone,

Just a friendly reminder that the RIMS Science & Engineering Fair takes
place next Tuesday, April 3. This multi-county event features district
science fair winners from Riverside, Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino
counties. For participating students, this is the big show - doing well
here can earn them an automatic bid to Intel (the international science
fair - in the case of truly exceptional projects), qualify them for major
cash prizes and scholarships, and/or earn them a spot at the California
State Science Fair. As such, the quality of projects is top-notch, and the
students are really excited about science.

The organizers need judges to help evaluate projects for grades 4-12
(grades 4-5 are posters only; grades 6-12 include student interviews).
Judging takes place from 9-1:30pm (this event does require a substantial
time commitment), with an orientation at 8:30am. The event will be held at
the National Orange Show Fairgrounds in San Bernardino.

If you're interested in attending, please complete and return the judging
form <http://www.sbcss.k12.ca.us/ess/downloads/Science/2012_judge_form.pdf>to
Tracey Rivas at the Riverside County Office of Education. Her contact
information is listed in the linked document.

Finally, Bre and I will be coordinating carpools for this fair, so if you
need a ride or can provide a ride, please let us know as soon as possible.

Cheers,
Brian
