Dear Biology Students,
The Biology department participates in the Riverside Unified School District 
Science Fair each year and gives out awards to winning students.  We are able to 
evaluate posters from kids from Kindergarten through High School and we give 
awards to both Junior  (K-7th Grade) and Senior Divisions (High School).  The 
winners of the Senior Division move on to the regional Science Fairs and some 
may even move on to the State Science Fair.  This year Cathy Thaler and I are 
organizing the judging team for Biology.

We request that the judges come on 9 February (usually in Lothian Hall) to help 
us evaluate science projects.  It is an interesting and fun activity and you have a 
chance to participate in an activity that is important in fostering an interest in 
science in young people.  

If you are interested in this, we are asking that you join our team for one hour 
(your choice) from 9am – 1pm on 9 February (next Wednesday).    We will judge 
posters (the number of posters depends on the number of entries) in 
Mammalian Biology and Zoology.   

Let me know by Monday (7 February) if you can do this.
