[Bgsa] would you use an ice machine in the basement?

Dear folks,

You may remember that the department has some money available to
invest in equipment or other things, and I asked folks whether there
were any things that they would like it to be used for. Apparently
increasing the amount of money available in departmental grants, which
was one suggestion (with which I strongly concurred) is not an option.
However, Bre suggested that an ice machine convenient to the vivarium
might be useful, and I have (very belatedly - apologies, Bre!) found
out from Rich that that could be an option if it looked as though a
lot of people would use it. It sounds like he wouldn't want it to be
in the vivarium, because of the restricted access, but near the
vivarium (i.e., by Laurie's shop) would be okay.

So, please let me know if you would use an ice machine in the basement
near the vivarium (i.e., near Laurie's shop). If another location
would be preferable, let me know that too.

By the way, you may have noticed that Rich has put a computer in the
mailroom for us. As of last time I checked, it wasn't yet networked
to the xerox machine, but the plan is to have it hooked up so that
graduate students can print from it to the xerox machine. We also, of
course, finally got the refrigerator in the Moore room that we were
asking for - so this does seem to be a good time to get things from
the department...

Cheers,

Carla
