Hey everyone!
Anyone interested in taking a few days off sometime around the
weekend of September 13th/14th to go camping/snorkeling on Catalina
Island? I'm thinking about staying at a campground ($12 per person/
night) near the town of Avalon, which would be within walking distance
of a couple of good places beach-entry places for snorkeling. One of
them, called Lover's Cove is not really deep, and is supposed to be a
really good place for beginning snorkelers. You can also reach some
(not too dense) kelp forests from the beach. Online, it looked like
you can rent snorkeling equipment including a wetsuit for about $20 a
day. The most expensive thing is the ferry ride, which is about $66
round trip.
Let me know if you're interested!
Mandy
