African Student Programs and the UCR History & Public History Department for <i>Living the California Dream: Black Leisure African American Leisure Sites During the Jim Crow era! </i><u>An</u> evening with historian Alison Rose Jefferson where she will share
stories about how African Americans from the 1900s to 1960s created recreational and relaxation spaces in Southern California and in the process formed community and created business projects drown from her recent book, <i>Living the California Dream: African
American Leisure Sites during the Jim Crow Era.</i> She will also talk about how some of these stories are being used in contemporary public history remembrance and public policy actions.</span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

Inland Empire destinations at Lake Elsinore where architect Paul R. Williams designed a Black-owned resort and the Parkridge Country Club in Corona, along with at Southern California beach communities of Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica and other places. Stay
