<i>Black Men in White Coats</i>. This film dissects the systemic barriers preventing black men from becoming medical doctors and the consequences on society at large.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">A recent UCLA <a href="https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11606-021-06745-1" target="_blank">study</a> found that the proportion of physicians who are Black in the U.S. has remained essentially unchanged
since 1940. In 2018, about 13% of the U.S. population was Black, but only 5.4% of physicians were Black. The documentary <i>Black Men in White Coats</i> seeks to increase the number of Black men in the field of medicine by bringing awareness to the issue.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">On Thursday, November 4<sup>th</sup> at 10am, L.A. Care will host a live online panel discussion of the film. Dr. Deborah Deas, Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences and Dean of the UCR School of Medicine will
