“Through my passion to serve, support, and uplift others, I am committed to
the roles and responsibilities of serving as a board member. I value
strength, support, connection, and community—core values that are essential
to succeeding and thriving in spaces where you might not necessarily fit
in.”
*Student Representative: Aliyah Nelm*
“I believe that what is most important is making sure Black scholars can
feel as comfortable and included as possible. I want to help create a
pathway between current UCR students and alumni.”

Special Shout-Out: Student Volunteer Devyn Holub
“Being a part of the BAC enables me to be an active member in my community
and learn in the process. I aim to serve as a bridge between our Black
Alumni Chapter and current Black scholars so that others can feel inspired
by those that have come before us.”
Devyn reminds us that supporting the chapter takes many forms—from
volunteering at events, showing up for students, spreading the word, or
simply staying engaged. Every contribution matters, and we are grateful for
community members who step up in meaningful ways.
