BFASA,

I want to thank you all so much for your unwavering support during my 2-year tenure at UC Riverside. Today is my last day with the university. Work like this couldn't get done without figures like you all taking on the roles you do here at the institution to support scholars.

I'm starting a new position as Assistant Director, Undergraduate Admissions Transfer and Opportunity Programs as a Regional South Bay Area Recruiter. So, it also requires a move back to where it all started for me from Kindergarten to Community College in the YAY Area.

Being the Admission Counselor for Black and African American Recruitment wasn't easy but the community of BFASA, ASP, UCR BAC, and the surrounding community of Riverside made this a heartwarming experience I'll never forget.

As I leave just know that the work that has been done in Admissions for our incoming Black scholars will continue as Undergraduate Admissions has gained some new leadership as you all will soon meet and get to know Ronald Whitenhill, Associate Director of Recruitment.

The purpose of the Assistant Director, is to oversee all aspects of diversity recruitment and application evaluation within the UC Riverside Undergraduate Admissions office. In concert with the Director and Associate Directors of Undergraduate Admissions, the incumbent is responsible to develop an annual strategic plan in line with the campus and Enrollment Services strategic plans to meet diversity enrollment objectives. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, the incumbent supervises full-time admission specialist who are responsible for the recruitment and evaluation of applicants to UCR. This position will require travel to recruit prospective and admitted students by providing oversight at various programs and events as well as participation in consortium travel and conferences.

Compensation: $71,100 - $85,500

The Admission Specialist - Black/African American Focus, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Diversity and Community Engagement, is a pivotal figure in interpreting and enforcing University policies. This role revolves around cultivating positive relationships with the public, institutions, and organizations involved in outreach recruitment. Serving as a vital resource for the external community, including high school and community college counselors, the Admission Specialist actively engages in outreach recruitment efforts to boost enrollment among high-achieving and underrepresented minority students. Representing the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the University, they participate in various events, such as workshops, counselor conferences, college fairs, and high school visits as well as proposes and creates programs for Community Based Organizations. Additionally, they evaluate admission eligibility for both freshman and transfer applicants based on various documents, demonstrating a high level of professionalism as a representative of UC Riverside and the University of California. Compensation: $59,000.00 - $68,000.00
