Colleagues –

I would like to share exciting news for our African Students Programs (ASP).  Recently ASP earned the distinction of being named 2024 Center of the Year by the Association of Black Culture Centers (ABCC).  There has been a long-lasting commitment ASP has had to the UCR Community and the greater Inland Empire. This recognition is a great honor to UCR and the UC system as a whole.

There’s a nomination process that is submitted and takes into account innovative programming, branding and social media, community well-being (both on and off campus), and advocacy for Black scholars at the respective institution. This is a huge honor for ASP to receive this award and speaks to the hard work and dedication of their professional staff and scholars.
