[BFASA] Scholarship Opportunity for Black Women in Finance/Accounting

Please share the following information with Black women who are in the finance and/or accounting majors. Please let me know if there are any questions:


ABWA as an organization that takes pride in fulfilling our mission to retain, empower, support and mentor women of color in the accounting and finance profession as well as partner with organizations to educate youth and young adult females of color while we provide access to resources such as scholarships and internship. ABWA has 2 scholarships for this purpose:

ABWA General Scholarship Awards
If you are aspiring to have a career in finance or accounting, you can apply to the ABWA scholarship. The scholarship can help a woman of color on her journey to become a businesswoman by providing additional funds to use towards their college education. Scholarship Award Amount: up to $1000

The Rosemarie Pamela Brown Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to provide extra support to an exceptional woman of color looking to pursue a career in the accounting or finance profession. See application for further details. Scholarship Award Amount: up to $5000

The deadline to submit scholarship applications is: Sept 15


ABWA General Scholarship Awards Eligibility Requirements:
1) Candidate must be a full- or part-time High School or College student seeking a career in the accounting and/or finance.
2) Student must have a minimum 2.75 GPA.
3) Must apply for a membership in A.B.W.A. or be a current member. First year membership for students is free.
Please fill out the Scholarship Application below AND provide the following 3 items:

  *   An essay (limited to 500 words), describing your interest in Accounting or Finance
  *   Copy of your high school or college transcript
  *   Two current letters of recommendation

2. Copy of your high school or college transcript
3. Two current letters of recommendation
