Greetings ASP Friends and Family,

This is just a reminder about Giving Tuesday, happening tomorrow, Tuesday, November 30, 2021!

As mentioned last week, African Student Programs and the Black Alumni Chapter of UCR are joining forces on again to participate in #GivingTuesday<https://dayofgiving.ucr.edu/o/university-of-california-riverside/i/university-of-california-riverside-day-of-giving>, where funds are raised to support student support programs on campus. I’m reaching out to invite you to help us raise funds for our campaign, ASP x BAC: Then. Now. Forever. Scholarship Fund.

With at least a $5 donation (less than the price of a venti Pumpkin Spiced Latte at Starbucks), we can move closer to our goal of $10,000. Last year, we surpassed our goal and this time, we’re aiming higher for our scholars! Together with the Black Alumni Chapter, we’ve been able to support UCR Black with multiple scholarships to ease the financial burden of college, hosted the first ever Drive-Thru Black Grad celebration, and helped many scholars transition into their post-grad careers even during the pandemic among many other things.

This year the stakes have been raised as we have the unique opportunity to double the impact of every gift made during Giving Tuesday thanks to the generosity of the UCR Foundation board of trustees. Each gift of $5 or more made to student support funds during Giving Tuesday will be matched one to one until we’ve reached $200,000 in total gifts. Your $5 dollars turns into $10, your $500 will become $1,000 and so on!

Please help us to exceed our goal and make an lasting impact to support the success of Black scholars here at UCR. This is the time for us to come together to influence positive change for the future Black leaders of our community.

Our page is open for your generous giving and you can start making a gift today (at least $5) now at: https://bit.ly/3l68PZw.

Do not hesitate to reach out if there are any questions or concerns.

Remember, it takes a village to graduate a Black scholar!
