Hip Hop Dance Fit Session #1

Looking to get fit and have fun while doing it? African Student Programs is partnering with Urge 2 Dance to host three dance sessions to help folx release their stress, build community, and have fun! The first session will happen tomorrow, February 3, 2021 at 7p! Urge 2 Dance is a Black owned dance company that is influencing the lives of Black people all throughout Southern California. Below is a short bio of the owner/founder of Urge 2 Dance, Shakeema Prescott!

Shakeema Prescott began dancing at the early age of three years old. She danced and is trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin, Ballroom, Swing and African Dance. Shakeema has trained under professionals such as "So You Think You Can Dance" choreographer Shane Sparks, celebrity choreographer Laurieann Gibson, celebrate choreographer/performer Brandee Evans and many more. She also trained at Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood and performed in over 100 shows and competitions.  Shakeema later went on to audition for the hit show "So You Think You Can Dance" making it to the second round as well as MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew." She also appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show where she danced alongside celebrity choreographer "Twitch." Her skills and talent have opened doors for multiple choreography opportunities as she continues to use her gift to showcase her talents to the world.
