[BFASA] Support For UCR's Black Faculty

Dear BFASA members,
As BFASA continues the work of advocacy for UCR's Black community we want to ensure that consideration is extended to all members. One population that we hope to extend particular support to at this time is UCR's Black faculty.
The BFASA Executive Board recently become aware of particular challenges faced by Black faculty members. As a result we are interested in creating a safe environment for Black faculty to speak together regarding their concerns. By doing this we hope to identify particular challenges faced and how UCR in general (and BFASA in particular) can address them.
To support this effort, BFASA plans to hold a Zoom session for Black faculty members during the month of August. Faculty members who are interested in participating are asked to respond to this email by August 10th so that a time can be scheduled. Please note participation is strongly encouraged but voluntary.
BFASA's Executive Board stands ready to do what is necessary to support its faculty, beginning with this meeting and beyond. Please contact us with any questions.
