Hello Black Faculty Fam,

I hope you are doing well and staying safe and healthy. I am forwarding
this information along in case it interests you...

"The Graduate Student Resource Center will be hosting Dr. Shardé Davis, who
is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication at the
University of Connecticut and the creator of *#BlackintheIvory*, that took
over Twitter and social media this summer, bringing experiences of Black
scholars to light. She’s joining us during the After Grad: Academic
Pathways Week <https://gsrc.ucr.edu/aftergrad/apw>, a career development
event for graduate students and postdocs pursuing academic careers. She’s
also interested in meeting with Black faculty and staff at UCR in a
50-min-long meet-n-greet on Wednesday, November 18th. I’m reaching out to
you to see if the Black Faculty and Staff Association members would be
interested in joining her. I’d like to schedule the meet-n-greet at a time
on Wednesday, November 18th that works the best for your group."

*"**Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our
struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is
the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and
get in good trouble, necessary trouble." -John Lewis*
