I am sharing this announcement from XCITE, ITS, and VPDUE Jennifer Brown that describes important resource information for teaching this coming Fall and beyond.
Dear Faculty,
On behalf of the XCITE/Undergraduate Education and ITS Technology Partnership, I am pleased to formally introduce the Rooms for Increasing Student Engagement (RISE) website, available at ontherise.ucr.edu<https://ontherise.ucr.edu/>.
This website contains information about the RISE initiative, including answers to frequently asked questions, technology guidance for faculty and departments, and support resources for faculty. Training videos on how to use the equipment and incorporate the functionality are in development and will be available soon.
In addition to viewing this online resource, I invite you to attend the RISE Open House sessions<https://ontherise.ucr.edu/events> taking place on Tuesday, September 14 from 10am - 12pm in Sproul 1340 and Friday, September 17 from 1pm - 3pm in MSE 003.
Attendees will receive a live demonstration of the technology in action, training on technology use, and guidance on pedagogy incorporation for innovative teaching and learning. To register to attend, please visit ontherise.ucr.edu/events<https://ontherise.ucr.edu/events>.
As we return to campus this fall, in-person classroom technology orientations will resume to provide faculty with the opportunity to learn about the instructional technology specific to the classrooms in which they are scheduled to teach. If you are scheduled to teach in a RISE room, your orientation will include training on the new classroom technology. As always, these orientations are provided to help those faculty interested in utilizing presentation and instructional technology feel confident and prepared for the quarter. Please keep an eye out for an email from ITS Multimedia and Classroom Technologies about your scheduled orientation.
There are exciting changes taking place on campus that offer new opportunities to faculty and students. We look forward to welcoming you back and providing the technical and functional support needed to pursue these opportunities and enable your success.
