<span style="font-size:13.5pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:black">I am the Chair of the Biology Department at Rhode Island College and I wanted to inform you about two tenure-track faculty positions that we are seeking to fill. <span class="x_apple-converted-space"> </span>Rhode
Island College is a mid-sized institution of about 6400 students located in a suburban setting in Providence. <span class="x_apple-converted-space"> </span>We service a diverse student population with over 40% of the undergraduates are students of color and
over 45% are the first in their family to attend college. <span class="x_apple-converted-space"> </span>Recently, RIC was federally designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). We seek candidates whose background, teaching interests, and research agenda
will help foster diversity with the College. <span class="x_apple-converted-space"> </span>The Department of Biology offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Health Sciences, and Medical Imaging as well as a minor in biology. We also have a graduate
program offering a M. A. and a Certificate of Graduate Study. In addition, the Biology Department provides courses taken by students in other programs across the campus, such as Nursing and Education. <span class="x_apple-converted-space"> </span>Faculty within
the Biology Department have the potential to access state-wide funding opportunities: RI-EPSCOR and RI-INBRE. <span class="x_apple-converted-space"> </span>As a small state in New England, Rhode Island has much to offer with proximity to beaches, wooded areas,

and/or physiology. <span class="x_apple-converted-space"> </span>Although the successful candidate is expected to develop a research program involving undergraduates and Master’s students, the primary focus of this position is education.</span><span class="x_apple-converted-space"><span style="font-size:14.0pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:black"> </span></span><span style="font-size:13.5pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:black">Both
