Co-Director, Aimee McRae-Clark, PharmD (Medical University of South
Carolina), and the Executive Committee, we kindly ask for your assistance
in sharing an upcoming NIH-sponsored training opportunity with your

April 12-17, 2026

FrSUDP3 is an annual research education program designed for *medical and
graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical and research
professionals, and social workers* with an interest in substance use during
pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood.
This *NIH/NIDA-sponsored program* provides conceptual education, expert-led
discussions, and hands-on research training focused on studying pregnant
individuals with or at risk for substance use disorders, as well as their
neonates, toddlers, and children. The course also addresses the underlying
mechanisms of SUD and therapeutic strategies to reduce associated harm.
FrSUP3 convenes leading experts in substance use, pregnancy, neonatal
abstinence syndrome (NAS), and related biomedical fields to deliver:
- Hands-on laboratory-based research training
- One-on-one mentoring in scientific approaches and career development
- Formal and individualized career development components to support
independent research and career advancement
