[Allgsacstudents] Join Student Voices for Clean Air at Dec. 5th AQMD Board Meeting!

Hi All!

I’m reaching out to see if any graduate students or graduate organizations
would like to collaborate on a campaign to protect clean air and climate
health here in Southern California.

Right now, our regional clean air agency, the South Coast Air Quality
Management District, is writing new rules on industrial gas boilers, and
they are planning to consider them at their next Board meeting on Friday,
December 5th @ 9:00 am in Diamond Bar. We would love for you or your
organization to come and give public comments to support this critical
policy for clean air!

Industrial gas boilers in SoCal are responsible for nearly one-third of
California’s industrial emissions, and they contribute to harmful public
health impacts in Environmental Justice communities. The gas industry and
their allies are lobbying hard to keep the status quo. By bringing student
power to the Board meeting in December, we can set up a favorable vote for
the final version of the rules that will be voted on in May.

Would you be interested in providing public comment on Dec. 5th? Would you
be free for a 20-30 minute meeting where we can discuss your involvement in
our campaign? I have attached a quick fact sheet about the rule.
