The CNAS Science Lecture Series<https://sciencelectureseries.ucr.edu/> (SLS) is back!

Tuesday, March 5 at the UCR Palm Desert Center
The series kicks off on Tuesday, March 5 at the UCR Palm Desert Center with CNAS Professor of Climatology, Robert J. Allen, for a presentation on "The Escalating Climate Catastrophe." Tuesday, April 30 at University Theater
The second installment of the Science Lecture Series is on Tuesday, April 30 at University Theater with our very own Nobel Laureate and National Medal of Science honoree, Barry Barish. On this same day, the Physics & Astronomy Department will be celebrating Professor Barish being awarded the National Medal of Science with a full day of festivities; the Science Lecture Series concludes the celebration that day. Tuesday, May 14 at the UCR Palm Desert Center
The final lecture of the series is on Tuesday, May 14 back at the UCR Palm Desert Center with UCR Research Agronomist, Elia Scudiero, whose presentation is titled "From Dirt to Data: Precision Insights for Sustainable Agricultural Systems." For each SLS event, the reception starts at 5 p.m. (food and light refreshments will be served, while supplies last) and the lecture begins at 6 p.m.

Need a Ride to the UCR Palm Desert Center?
For students, faculty, and staff interested in attending the March 5 and May 14 Science Lecture Series talks at the UCR Palm Desert Center... CNAS is offering a free shuttle bus to and from the main UCR campus to the UCR Palm Desert Center. To sign-up for the free shuttle bus, please fill out these Google Forms:

The shuttle bus will pick everyone up at 4 p.m. at Lot 1 (by the flag pole) and will return back at Lot 1 at about 8 p.m.

Please note:  The shuttle bus can accommodate 47 passengers, so please sign up soon and only if you are able to attend.
