The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is hiring for the Safer Choice Program Branch as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen and rebuild the Safer Choice<https://www.epa.gov/saferchoice> program.  Safer Choice is like EnergyStar, but for Safer Chemical products. EPA has certified around 2,000 products to bear the Safer Choice label. The branch also maintains the Safer Chemical Ingredients List<https://www.epa.gov/saferchoice/safer-ingredients>, which contains about 1,000 chemicals that meet the program's low-concern criteria. We are interested in expertise including chemistry, toxicology, biology, and public health.  In addition to the technical side of the program, we work with stakeholders like non-governmental organizations and retailers and communicate with the public.
