CMDB209 / GGB209 / BCH 209
is offered in
Winter 2022
Instructor: Ted Karginov

A comprehensive overview of the multiple functions of RNA in the cell. Topics include mRNA, rRNA and tRNA function and metabolism, RNA catalysis and the "RNA world", eukaryotic and bacterial non-coding RNAs, and bacterial riboswitches.

Format: the course will consist of lectures combined with student presentations of papers, and discussion. The majority of course material is in the form of lecture notes and primary literature.

Prerequisite: BIOL107A (or similar); graduate standing or consent of instructor
