Subject: Postdoc Preview Events

Hello,

I am reaching out to you to share two postdoc recruitment events taking place this fall. They would be of great interest to graduate students in Biomedical Sciences and life sciences programs in CNAS. Please see below for more information and share with your senior graduate students who are looking for postdoc opportunities this coming year.

Van Andel Institute (Grand Rapids, Michigan) Postdoc Preview
Van Andel Institute (Grand Rapids, Michigan) is hosting their first postdoc preview on Oct. 14-16, 2021. Please share this information with any of your senior grad students who are looking for postdoc opportunities.

VAI Postdoc Preview is a three-day program that provides selected applicants the opportunity to visit Van Andel Institute to learn about our postdoctoral training opportunities, meet one-on-one with our internationally recognized faculty and explore our extensive scientific resources, including our state-of-the-art Core Technologies and Services. The application period is open through 11:59 p.m. ET on Aug. 31.

There is no cost to attend. VAI will provide transportation, lodging and meals for all selected applicants. We also are pleased to offer family care grants for those caring for children or other family members. More information and the application may be found here<https://vari.vai.org/event/postdoc-preview/>.

Applicants must be current graduate students at U.S. institutions who anticipate beginning a postdoctoral fellowship by November 2022. Individuals who identify as underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who are eligible for VAI's NCI T32-funded Cancer Epigenetics Training Program and the Inspire Fellowship (more information on these programs is coming soon. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply).

VAI labs conduct world-class biomedical research in cancer epigenetics, neurodegeneration, metabolism, cell biology and structural biology - all supported by outstanding Core Technologies and Services. We offer numerous fully funded postdoctoral positions across our areas of focus.

University of Michigan Medical School Postdoc Preview
As biomedical and life science graduate students wrap up their research and look ahead to future opportunities, we encourage them to consider the University of Michigan Medical School for a postdoctoral research fellow position. Twice a year, we host Postdoc Preview, a recruiting event that awards 20 applicants the opportunity to explore the extensive postdoctoral research and training opportunities available at U-M. During a virtual visit, candidates will interview with prospective mentors, network with our current postdocs, and learn about life in Ann Arbor.

Applications are open until August 20, 2021 for our next Postdoc Preview, held October 18-22, 2021. For more information and to apply: https://ogps.smapply.io/prog/postdoc_preview_october_2021/

Please share this opportunity with PhD students and your broader networks in the biomedical sciences realm by circulating this content & attached flyer or by sharing on Twitter<https://twitter.com/BethBodiya/status/1414601849773117446> or LinkedIn<https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6820371005417115648/>.
