Good morning Kathy,

Would you mind sharing this flyer with potentially interested grad students? We're looking for graduate students interested in helping to mentor undergraduate students who are doing summer internships with the EPA and City of Riverside on Food Recovery.  The internship program runs July 26- Aug 27, and the grad student's weekly time commitment is small.  (See the message below and flyer).


In CNAS, I might expect students in Plant Biology, Environmental Toxicology, and Environmental Sciences to be among those more likely to be interested, although you may know of individuals from other programs would could fit the interests too.

Hello Career Readiness Assessment Team,



I hope this message finds you all well!



My colleague, Monica Cruz, along with Dr. Sundararajan Venkatadriagaram and representatives from the EPA and City of Riverside are working diligently to plan for and facilitate one of our summer 2021 group internships for UCR students. Eight UCR student interns have been hired and the syllabus development is underway. The next step is to recruit three UCR graduate students willing to mentor 2-3 student interns and earn a stipend. The mentor recruitment flyer is attached. If you can please share with any graduate students you think may be interested, that would be wonderful. Mentors can be from various disciplines and should have a demonstrated interest in the project topic. Students can email Monica Cruz at their earliest convenience. Monica plans to identify graduate student mentors early next week.



On a related note, graduate student mentors for our second group internship with the Greater Riverside Hispanic Chamber of Commerce have already been identified, eight UCR student interns have been hired, and syllabus development is underway.
