<p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Ofelia was a former educator, lifelong community advocate, and fellow UCR Highlander who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around her. A trailblazer, she made history as the first Latina elected
to the RUSD School Board in 1992. Her impact as a founding member of Riverside Latino Network, established in 1993, and the pivotal role she played with the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture have left an indelible mark on our region.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The family is hosting her memorial service at UCR on Friday, January 26. Due to limited parking, most of the guests will need to park in Lot 26. We have reserved ten 12-passenger vans and need folks to
drive them as a shuttle service for guests from Lot 26 to the SRC. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
