CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! - Annual Chicano Latino Youth Conference - April 27th
On behalf of the Chicano/Latino Youth Conference Committee we would like to invite you to VOLUNTEER at our 32nd Annual Chicano/Latino Youth Conference that will take place at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 8:00am to 3:30pm.

Our theme is: “El poder de nuestra comunidad comenzó con el alimento de nuestros antepasados y juntos plantamos semillas que florecerán a pesar de las circunstancias. You are the living reality of yesterday's dreams!”

This action-packed, one-day annual conference during the spring quarter brings more than 800 local high school students to UCR. We aim to increase the number of Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, promote cultural awareness, and encourage social activism. Attendees participate in workshops, listen to inspirational guest speakers and learn more about their options for higher education and beyond. The conference is FREE and open to high school youth, parents/guardians, counselors, advisors, and teachers!

Our Chicano Link Peer Mentor Program extends a bienvenida to new first-year, transfer, and graduate students! One-on-one meetings, study sessions, and academic workshops support a positive transition to UCR and promote new students’ academic, cultural, and social success.

We are currently recruiting undergraduate and graduate mentors and mentees for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year!

We are having our 12th Free Annual Community Health Fair on May 18th, 2024 at the Bordwell Park-Stratton Community Center in Riverside and we need volunteers. Since this involves the community, we are looking for student volunteers.

Our health fair is a free event aimed at promoting well-being within our community by providing completely free health screenings, distributing resources, and sharing educational opportunities. With the goal of fostering a healthier community, we are inviting local organizations to join us as sponsors, partners, exhibitors, or volunteers.

We cannot succeed without the help of the General Volunteers. We will be providing medical care, dental care, vision care, vaccinations, and more. However, for such a large endeavor, we need volunteers to help with setup, takedown, and everything in between. I am asking you to reach out to your members to sign up with this link<https://tinyurl.com/HFgeneralvolunteer> or post the flyer to your socials, asking members to volunteer. The form should have all the necessary information regarding the health fair for volunteers.
