Hello Everyone,

I wanted to bring a couple of things to people's attention that are happening next Saturday March 22nd.

The spring opening at UCR ARTS is scheduled from 3pm-6pm. It is to celebrate three shows which have or will have opened this spring. These are Lost in the Wilderness: Ansel Adams in the 1960s, Shadow Archive: Meggan Gould, and Gail Rebhan, About Time. Lost in the Wilderness: Ansel Adams in the 1960s was Douglas McCulloh's last show before his unexpected passing. He had written a book which was then designed and worked on by his wife Dawn and Grace Saunders that will be released that night as well.

Professor Savannah Esquivel has co-organized a conference at the Huntington Library that explores music and performance in the Spanish Americas. See the email that Iselda shared on March 17th for more information. It will be on Friday the 21st as well as the 22nd so can be done at least in part while engaging with one of the other events.

That same day out in Palm Springs they will be having Queer Histories of Southern Histories. This includes a talk by Judy Baca and a conversation between Ron Athey and curator Alex Fialho. There will then be a reception with the artists afterward. The curator of their whole Q+ initiative is a friend of UCR ARTS David Evans Frantz. He has offered tickets for free for us in the program who would like to go. Please let me know and I can pass on the code. He asked though that we get our free tickets in by March 18th.

Thank you,

Timothy LeBlanc
