Dear Graduate Directors, Advisors, and Coordinators,
The Graduate Division is pleased to announce the launch of the *Graduate
Off-campus Fellowship (GO! Fellowship).* This award is designed to provide
full financial support to graduate students whose essential research or
scholarly activities must be conducted away from campus, preventing them
from accepting traditional on-campus employment.
The GO! Fellowship aims to ensure that students remain fully funded,
including stipend, tuition, and fees, while conducting required fieldwork,
site visits, or other off-campus research activities. Students may apply
for funding from *Fall 2026 through Summer 2027*. The fellowship provides *one
quarter of support*, including an $11,500 stipend and full coverage of
tuition and fees.
Eligible applicants include PhD and MFA students who have advanced to
candidacy and are within normative time.
The application will require the following materials:
- Completed Graduate Off-campus Fellowship (GO!) application form
- Research statement describing the project in layman’s terms (maximum 1
page)
- Off-campus justification statement (maximum 300 words)
- CV or resume
- Detailed timeline demonstrating progress toward degree completion
- Two letters of recommendation:
- One letter from the Major Professor/Dissertation Advisor
- One letter from the Graduate Advisor confirming funding support
following the award period
- Confirmation letter from the visiting site (if applicable)
*There will be one application cycle each spring for the following academic
year, and programs will not be limited in the number of nominations.*
Please identify eligible candidates within your departments who would
benefit from this dedicated research support.

*The application deadline is July 31, 2026.*
Students will receive a separate email with additional information
regarding this opportunity.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
All best,
Emma H. Wilson
