Dear Professor Laxton,

Pleased to make your acquaintance, my name is Vinky and I’m a doctoral
student at USC in the Comparative Studies in Literature and Culture (CSLC)
program. This Spring, we are hosting a Graduate Student Colloquium,
titled “Silence
&—,” which seeks to inspire conversation and a sense of community across
the university. Significantly, we are celebrating the program’s 15th
anniversary and the role of Dr. Peggy Kamuf, Professor Emerita of French &
Italian and Comparative Literature, in its foundation.


I am thrilled to share with you the call for papers for the 2026 CSLC
Graduate Student Colloquium, which will take place on March 5th and 6th,
2026, under the title "Silence &—."  I kindly request that you share it
with the faculty and students of your program, as well as anyone you
