Greetings everyone!

For those of you who are new to the department: welcome! I am pleased to be
acting as the Art History Graduate Student Association President (AHGSA)
this academic year. As such, I will be conducting our AHGSA meetings which
are scheduled twice a quarter. These meetings (in addition to being
mandatory) are an excellent opportunity to catch up with colleagues and to
receive updates on departmental affairs.

*Our first meeting in the Grad Office will take place in Week 2 (Oct. 6th -
10th) and the date/time will be determined based on the results of this
survey <https://www.when2meet.com/?31942792-tsEOc>.* Please fill out the
survey ASAP! If you are an incoming student, this meeting will be
particularly important as we will be assigning grad lounge desks and
discussing nominations for the remaining AHGSA officer positions (duties
listed below).

As a reminder, *it is expected we will all do our best to attend these
meetings!* They are crucial to the maintenance of our community and happen
to be pretty enjoyable as well. We're all friends here, so think of these
meet-ups as an opportunity to relax and mingle with your fellow colleagues
who understand exactly what you're going through academically 🙂.

I expect this first meeting will mostly revolve around introductions and
getting the lay of the land for a new year. With that being said, please
let me know if there is anything else that you would like to discuss during
our first meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Cheers,
Becky Teague
