Dr. Suzanne Hudson is now here at the Getty and planning for the Consortium
Scholar is well underway. I met with Suzanne earlier this week and was
excited to hear about her plans for the seminar, which integrates theory,
interdisciplinary methods, and praxis to critically examine how art
intersects with illness, care, and healing - while also addressing the
ethical complexities of exhibiting personal and clinical materials.
Students will engage with objects from the Getty collections and learn from
guest speakers, including art historians, poets, and art therapists.

*We have* *extended the deadline for application until Wednesday, October
29, 2025.*

I am pleased to share that we are now accepting applications for the 2026
Getty Consortium Seminar

This year, in keeping with the 2025/26 GRI scholar year theme of *Repair, *the
seminar will focus on *Art, Therapy and the Problem of Repair.* It will be
led by Dr. Suzanne Hudson <https://dornsife.usc.edu/profile/suzanne-hudson/>,
Professor of Art History and Fine Arts at the University of Southern
California (USC).

The Consortium Seminar is an essential part of the Getty Scholars Program,
and we are always delighted to welcome your students to the Getty Center
each year. An informational flyer is attached. We hope you’ll share it with
eligible students and invite them to apply.
