Dear Colleagues,

This is a friendly reminder that the Charles F. Fraker Graduate Conference, organized by graduate students in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan, will take place October 17–18, 2025, in a hybrid format, with most programming held in person in Ann Arbor.

This year’s theme is Capitalism & Desire, and we invite proposals from graduate students across disciplines.

A limited number of virtual presentation slots are available, in recognition of ongoing disparities in travel funding. However, we strongly encourage those who are able to attend in person to do so, as virtual participation will be competitive due to technical constraints.

Proposals are due by June 30, 2025.

We would be grateful if you could share this announcement with your graduate students and any relevant departmental lists or networks.
