[Academicadvisors] Participation Needed in 2027 UCR Advising Conference

Dear Advisors,

As many of you are aware, the decision to postpone the 2026 UC Academic
Advising Conference (UCAAC) to 2027 was made earlier this fall due to
budget cuts and decreased participation among the campuses. However, the
UCR Advising Council and the UCAAC Steering Committee have decided to host
a UCR-only advising conference come Summer 2026.

We are reaching out to you—our dedicated advising community—to invite you
to play a critical role in shaping the 2026 conference by joining the
Conference Planning Committee. Your expertise, enthusiasm, and perspective
are essential to ensuring this is a successful and impactful conference for
our UCR colleagues.

The goal is to build upon the previous subcommittees formed during the
initial planning for the 2026 UC-wide Conference. Below is a brief summary
of those subcommittees.

1.    *Logistics/Hospitality:* Handling venue setup, catering, travel
accommodations, and overall guest experience.

2.    *Programming/Entertainment:* Developing the content (sessions,
workshops, keynotes) and planning evening events or social activities.

3.    *Marketing/Website:* Designing the conference branding, managing the
website, and handling communications and social media outreach.

4.    *Registration:* Overseeing the registration process, managing
attendee data, and handling on-site check-in.
