Dear Faculty,
You are receiving this communication because you have been identified as
teaching a course in the Fall 2026 term. XCITE’s Accessibility Team
(A-Team) is available to support accessibility remediation requests.
Although we can’t complete full course remediations before Fall
instruction, we can support remediation of content being used later in the
quarter or in future quarters.
Who we are: The A-Team is a group of trained student staff in XCITE who
remediate course materials to accessibility standards. There is no cost to
you or your department.
What we can remediate: PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint files, and Canvas
course content, including equation-heavy STEM materials.
The A-Team can build fixes in a sandbox copy of your course so your live
course stays untouched until you review any remediated content.
After you submit a request, we'll follow up by email or schedule a short
meeting. Once the work is done, we'll send a closing summary of what we
changed and why, so you can keep your materials accessible going forward.
How to submit: https://teaching.ucr.edu/a-team
If you're not sure whether something needs remediation, submit it anyway
and we'll take a look. You can also run Canvas's accessibility checker or
UDOIT <https://teaching.ucr.edu/udoit-guide> on your course for a quick
read on what's flagged.
Questions? Please email xcite-help at ucr.edu.
Thank you,
Joe Sepulveda
