Course Abstract: With more generations in the workplace than ever before, the success of an organization will depend on employees of all ages working effectively and respectfully as a team. In this workshop
based on foundational material provided by one of the project teams of the Making Excellence Inclusive: Diversity Certificate Program, participants will: increase awareness of the characteristics and needs of the four generations in UCR’s workforce; understand
the “social moments” for each generation and how the generation was shaped by these events; gain understanding of personal views about the generations; and enhance team effectiveness by exploring ways to leverage the strengths of each generation. Through
lecture, hands-on activities, and case studies, participants will capture practical ideas and information that can be applied immediately in their workplaces.
