face=Arial><span style='font-family:Arial'>. UCR will be joining colleges and universities
across the nation to recognize this important day. Denim Day is</span></font> <font
face=Arial><span lang=EN style='font-family:Arial'>a national campaign to raise
awareness and educate the public about rape and sexual assault. </span></font><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><font size=3 face=Arial><span lang=EN style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:
Arial'>The history of Denim Day dates back to 1998 when an <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address
w:st="on">Italian Court</st1:address></st1:Street> overturned a rape conviction
citing that the rape survivor wore jeans and therefore must have assisted her
attacker in removing her pants. The court’s decision sparked
international outrage. Wearing jeans became an international symbol of
protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault. On
Denim Day, we unite against the sexual assault of girls, women, boys and men.
We stand in support of survivors. We break the silence to end sexual violence.</span></font><o:p></o:p></p>

available regarding Denim Day at ASPB’s “Nooner” program at

from 12-2pm. Additionally, there are several ways you can make Denim Day at UCR
