<P><SPAN style="COLOR: black">An autopsy has shown that the incarcerated
director of a Thai museum in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Bangkok</st1:place></st1:City> died at a federal prison in SeaTac of
natural causes.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="COLOR: black">A spokeswoman for the King County Medical
Examiner's Office said Friday that Roxanna Brown died of peritonitis, an
infection caused by a perforated gastric ulcer.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="COLOR: black">The 62-year-old <st1:country-region
w:st="on">U.S.</st1:country-region> citizen died around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at
the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Federal</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Detention</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> while being held for investigation.

<P><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Brown was the director of the Southeast Asian
Ceramics Museum at <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Bangkok</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> in <st1:country-region
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Thailand</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
Investigators accused her of allowing collectors to overstate the value of art
donated to several <st1:place w:st="on">Southern California</st1:place> museums
and claim tax deductions.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Authorities arrested Brown last week while she was
in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Seattle</st1:place></st1:City>
visiting relatives. She was charged with one count of wire
fraud.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Maggie Ogden, a spokeswoman for the <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Federal</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Detention</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>, said Brown was booked May 9.

screened by medical staff, but she declined to speak specifically about Brown's
