College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University

The Department of History of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a full-time, one year term position with the possibility of renewal (leave replacement) to begin in August 2009 at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. PhD and teaching experience preferred. ABD minimum requirement. Teaching assignments will include introductory courses in South and/or Southeast Asian history, upper division courses in South and/or Southeast Asian history, as well as courses for the major. Writing Programme

National University of Singapore

We are looking for colleagues who can teach academic writing through topic-specific interdisciplinary courses in the Writing and Critical Thinking domain of the University Scholars Programme, National University of Singapore. Appointments are non tenure-track (Lecturer or above), and are normally for 3 years in the first instance, but renewable multiple times. The normal teaching load is 2/2, and each writing class is capped at 12-15 students. Appointees should hold a Ph.D. in an academic discipline and be active scholars. Prior teaching experience in a writing programme is a plus. They will also have opportunities to teach non-writing courses in their discipline.  Remuneration and benefits are competitive. We are looking for candidates who can begin as soon as possible. The current positions will remain open until filled, but review will begin on 11 May 2009.
