CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

2010 North American Graduate Student Conference in Buddhist Studies**

The University of Toronto is pleased to announce the North American  
Graduate
Student Conference in Buddhist Studies, to be held from April 9 to  
April 11,
2010.

*We are soliciting proposals from graduate students in Buddhist  
Studies (and
related fields) for papers that reflect the wide range of disciplines
(history, anthropology, art history, linguistics, etc.),  
methodologies, and
geographical regions that characterize the academic study of Buddhist
traditions. *

Approximately 15 papers will be presented at the conference.  
Presentations
(limited to 20 minutes) will be followed by faculty respondents.

FUNDING

Presenters should seek funding from their home institutions to cover  
travel
costs. However, the organizing committee is currently soliciting  
funds to
provide accommodations and meals for the participants. More details to
follow.

DEADLINES

Paper proposals of no more than 500 words should be submitted by  
October 15,
2009. Successful applicants will be notified by December 15 and  
presenters
will be asked to submit their final papers in advance of the  
conference for
review by faculty respondents.
