There are two new books on Lao and Thai Buddhism that have been recently published in the series "Critical Dialogues in Southeast Asian Studies" edited by Charles Keyes, Laurie Sears, and Vicente Rafael from the University of Washington Press. 

The first is by TLC member Monica Lindberg Falk:

and the second is by myself: 

Justin McDaniel, Gathering Leaves and Lifting Words: Histories of Buddhist Monastic Education in Laos and Thailand (2008).
