I'd like to take this opportunity to announce the release of a
new edition of Siksacakr: The Journal of the Center for Khmer
Studies. Edited by Michel Rethy Antelme, Siksacakr #8/9 is a
special double issue devoted to Buddhism in Cambodia. The aim
of this edited volume is to shed new light on Cambodian
Buddhism. Compared to Sri Lanka, Burma, and Thailand, Cambodia
has been neglected as a site of Buddhist scholarship with the
notable exception of Francios Bizot and Olivier de Bernon and
others. This edition demonstrates that Buddhism in Cambodia is
certainly a complex historical and cultural field, which
merits study distinct from other Theravada traditions.

Siksacakr ('the Wheel of Knowledge') is the peer-reviewed
trilingual journal published by the Center for Khmer Studies.
It is the first international bulletin focusing on Khmer
Studies in Khmer, English and French.
