Asian History, University of Miami

The History Department at the University of Miami plans to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in East Asia, Southeast Asia or South Asia. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. and evidence of potential for excellent scholarship and teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The process of reviewing applications will begin on November 1, 2008 and continue until the position is filled. Academic Position
Asian/Asian-American Studies, Sociology, Boston College

The Department of Sociology and the International Studies Program at Boston College invite applications for a tenure track assistant professor position with a cutting-edge research program in any of the following three areas: global environmental sociology, global social movements, and immigration. Scholars with expertise in any geographic area of the world are invited to apply, particularly those with an Asian/Asian-American Studies focus. The tenure line is housed in the Sociology Department. The position, which begins in the Fall of 2009, entails half-time teaching in International Studies, which is an undergraduate major, and half-time graduate and undergraduate teaching in the Department of Sociology, whose PhD program specializes in Social Economy and Social Justice: Class, Race and Gender in a Global Context.
